On 22 March 2014 it will be exactly 15 years since Tim Várdy set up his company Timon Enterprise. The very first FestivalChair was made for the North Sea Jazz Festival in The Hague, where Tim got together with a group of friends to sell his first stools. Fifteen years later the Chair is exported all over the world and has become a well-known concept in the events sector.
To celebrate this milestone, Timon Enterprise is organising a Sweelinck concert in the Doopsgezinde Church in Haarlem, conducted by Harry van de Kamp. Tim Várdy, who originally trained as a classical pianist, hopes that this concert will help to bring the beautiful music written by Sweelinck (a Dutch composer from the 16th century) to the attention of a wider public. ‘Sweelinck has always been a huge source of inspiration for me, and when you are running your own company you need inspiration,’ explains Tim.
